It is the home of a married couple and their children—a shelter where family and friends gather. The large openings let in an immense quantity of light inside the home. While choosing materials and colors, as well as pieces of furniture and equipment, it was very important to encapsulate the captivating light refraction inside the space, emphasizing the suspensions of the planes that define the spatial unity. It was important to preserve the feeling of open space, connected to the environment by the many windows. The central open space is facing east, with a fully glazed window-façade, and easily accessible from the street. The meeting room and the lecture and training room are isolated from the central part. There is a possibility to combine workstations, depending on the size of the work team. The work area is dominated by white surfaces, combined with bright colors and materials that emphasize certain architectural element, e.g. dark-mint staircase, yellow kitchen wall, wooden door. It is a central spot of all events happening in the home.&nbsp;The elements in the kitchen are made of wood - walnut in a natural, dark shade, in combination with metal black shelves where the favorite items of the users are arranged. Glossy rustic green tiles with distinctive patterns are a unique accent in the space. The plot is narrow yet elongated, and elevated above the street level. The parking and the entrance area are accessible from the street, while the yard is open and oriented towards the south, overlooking the city. On the ground floor social areas are redistributed, while the first floor is for the private areas. The house is not defined by a simple, single volume – different volumes are formed by internally organized separate units. On the front side of the ground floor, towards the garden faces the living room and the dining area with large glass openings. Bedrooms are organized on the first floor, each room with a separate sanitary unit. Positioning the vertical communications in the center of the plan creates an added spatial quality to the space, enabling multiple possibilities of circulation. The interior is open, divided in two zones by the difference in the floor level which in a way meets the needs for spatial organization of the work processes that include serving drinks and managing sales.Due to the poor condition of the space, we started setting up a concept that will regulate the volume from within, by defining horizontal and vertical planes. Retaining the existing floor, the walls and the ceiling have undergone the greatest transformation. All coatings and non-functional installations were removed in order to obtain clean and geometrically regular surfaces. The space is divided into two parts, one for displaying books together with an open counter for preparing coffee, and another where tables and chairs are placed. The dark blue color visually articulates the irregular geometries and complements the height of the ceiling by emphasizing several verticals. In contrast, in the sales section, the books are arranged on shelves made of wood. The in-between is treated freely with the possibility of transformation and arrangement according to the way of sitting / using the space. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje in 2013, and worked as architect designer in an architecture office in Skopje. She was teaching collaborator at the Chair of public buildings at her alma mater from 2013 until 2018. Since 2018 Elena is part time lecturer at the Faculty of Art and Design, European University in Skopje, organizing and directing two courses: Interior design and Furniture design, following a programme that focuses on research-based design. Dana Trencheva(1994) interior designer Obtained a bachelor degree from the Faculty of Science in Design and Technologies of Furniture and Interior, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in 2018, and worked as an interior and furniture designer in several design studios, gaining hands-on experience in project development, concept creation, and client collaboration.
